WISCASSET, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police say two people were hospitalized following an accident in Wiscasset Saturday.
The accident happened near the intersection of Route 1 and Birch Point Road.
According to authorities, a motorcyclist from New Jersey was driving when he crossed into the opposite lane and hit a car. The motorcyclist was taken by helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center, and was later transferred to Maine Medical Center. He is suffering from critical injuries.
The man driving the car, who is from Damariscotta, was taken to Miles Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
